Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a resident who discovered a automobile in Hanau smeared with reddish substance

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then located numerous other vandalized cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement report early analysis show the liquid was likely human blood.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any injuries in relation with the incident," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were working "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the community for tips.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident rendered him without words and required to be addressed quickly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting people of immigrant origin in five years prior.
